We built Verdad Nicaragua with an eye toward creating spaces that allow you to take in the stunning beauty of this extraordinary hillside in laid-back luxury. You can expect all the comfort, quality and excellence of a high-end resort, but without formality. Because we are a small boutique hotel with just five casitas and two rooms, you are able to personally connect with us during your stay. Verdad is your extraordinary home away from home, a hidden gem on the untouched coast of the Southern Pacific.
Because we care deeply about the environmental impact we make running our hotel, Verdad is also eco-conscious and off the grid. Our drinking water is carbon filtered and our electricity is 100% solar powered.
OUR LOCATION
Verdad is nestled on a hillside overlooking the secluded beach of Playa Escameca Grande, on Nicaragua's Emerald Coast, where we have a consistent year-round surf break, shaded lounge chairs, hammocks and a beach bar/restaurant, where you can enjoy Nica-style food and drinks while you wiggle your toes in the sand.
One of the first things you will notice when you arrive at Verdad Nicaragua is our area’s striking beauty. The surrounding tropical forest boasts a colorful array of flora, fauna and wildlife, and our hillside perch affords you striking, expansive views across our valley and out to the wide open sea. We share this magical setting with howler monkeys, lizards of all shapes and sizes, four species of sea turtles (that often come lay eggs on our beach) and a diverse population of birds, creating an animal watchers’ paradise.
We are about 20 minutes south of San Juan del Sur, a small port town and surfing hub, where you can stroll along the quaint streets, dine at one of several beachfront restaurants, sip beer at a local brewery, savor some truly delicious gelato, or just wander and enjoy the shops & chill vibe.

OUR AMENITIES
Verdad guests enjoy exclusive use of our pool which offers a respite with lounge chairs, ample sun and shade, and an honor bar stocked with drinks and snacks. Both are open to guests of Verdad 24 hours a day.
Verdad has an open-air yoga & functional fitness studio with stunning views of the ocean and surrounding valley exclusively for the use of our guests. We provide yoga mats, blocks and straps as well as 800 pounds of kettlebells, TRX, jump ropes, med balls, Bosu, and boxing gloves/pads. Professional, individualized fitness or yoga instruction can be arranged during your stay.
Boards of all types (surf, paddle and boogie) are available to rent on Playa Escameca if you are in search of some action on the water. There are also lounge chairs and hammocks for guests to use if relaxing on the beach is more your speed.
We serve a complimentary early riser breakfast, and then a full breakfast, and dinner daily (extra cost) in our open air dining area, as well as poolside. Everything we serve is prepared on site using the fresh local bounty. Read more about our sweet kitchen here.
Our sheets are 500 thread count cotton and we supply spa-style bath towels in your room and Turkish cotton Peshtemal for the pool and beach. Shampoo, hand and body wash in your room is locally made with natural ingredients.
We have daily housekeeping as well as 24 hour front desk and concierge service. There is always someone here to help out in any way we can.
